I got this idea from an issue of Paper Crafts Magazine and a book by Donna Downey called 'Photo Decor'. I used a dollar coin folder which I purchased at my local stationary supply store, carefully pulled off the front and back covers leaving bare cardboard and 3 single panels.
I then used mod podge to adhere paper to the three panels. Each panel was then distressed with chalk ink. Four hinges were added on the back of the panels and coloured brads used for the 'screws'. Just made sure you put your hinges on the way you want your folder to fold! It took me a couple times to get it how I wanted it. After I got that figured out, I added charms which hung from white string, attached some metal tags with ribbon which I had printed words on vellum to put in the middle of them. I printed on vellum a verse about families and adhered it to blue card before adding to the folder. You can pretty much let your imagination go wild on this project. I think I might do a Christmas theme on my next one.
