Coin Folder - Can be any coin size

Separate the 3 panels of the folder by pulling back outside cover

Once the front cover is pulled off all three panels, peel back the paper covering the other side. Neaten up the inside of the circles if there is any stray paper left showing

Choose at least 2 different sheets of coloured paper to cover the folder. I like to use the thicker scrapbook paper as it doesnt warp as easy once the glue is applied. Once you have chosen your paper, decide how you want your paper to appear on your folder. I usually use 2 different colours. One covers one whole panel plus 2/3 of the middle panel. And then the other paper for the remaining third and the whole of the last panel. I have found it easier to use your panel as a template to cut out the circles BEFORE you glue the paper to the folder. An Exacto knife seems to work best for me.

Once all circles are cut out, apply paper to your folder with adhesive. If you want to distress the edges this is the best time to do it. I use Colorbox fluid chalk inkpad in 'Chestnut Roan'. The inkpad is the shape of a cats eye which makes it really easy to just glide along the edges of your work.
Next step is adding the hinges. I make pilot holes first as it makes it a lot easier to push through the brads. I put the hinges are on the back side out so they are out of sight. Make sure to experiment with the way they fold before applying! I learnt this the hard way.
Next comes the fun part! Embellish, embellish, embellish!
It's totally up to you what you put on it. I adhere my photos onto thin card stock before I attach it to my folder to make it more rigid.
Ideas for embellishments - tiny bottles, bottle caps, chipboard letters, ribbon, flowers, buckles, metal ring tags, alphabet beads, small bulldog clips, charms.... the options are really only limited to your imagination!
